Legendary Blues and Rock and Roll performer, Max Carl is being showcased on MAVTV in the second installment of MAVTV’s exclusive Les Paul Kids Rock FreeĀ® Concert Series. For five decades, Carl has been a major contributor to a vast range of musical styles including writing songs with Kenny Loggins and Glenn Frey, touring with Grand Funk Railroad and .38 Special, recording with Bette Midler and Rod Stewart, working with James Brown and even cracking the movie score scene with tracks in “Police Academy” and “Weird Science.”

But it is as a solo performer that Carl’s genius comes to the fore. In this hour long concert (his first for MAVTV) Carl puts all his talent as singer, songwriter and instrumentalist on display as he takes us on a journey through the decades calling up a host of locations in his lyrics and musical styles with an infusion of Latin beat, zydeco, blues, gospel and rock. His incredible musicianship and mastery of seven different and very diverse instruments- the guitar, mandolin, piano, drums, flute, accordion and harmonica is on full display.

Max Carl’s performance was captured in HD at the intimate Rhythm Lounge at the Fender Center for the Performing Arts in Corona, which was also a fundraiser for Fender’s Kids Rock Free program which provides free and low-cost music lessons to kids across Southern California.
